Fire Resistant Cables

We supply a range of ultra-heat resistant cable which are designed to endure higher temperatures and more meticulous operating conditions than any other types of flexible cables. These type of cables are ideal for the most demanding applications in steel and aluminum plants, coke mills, glass factories, oil refineries and offshore rigs, and in various military and space installations and equipment.
Ascotherm® is manufactured by the mixture of mica, organic polymer and some other materials and indicated an ultra-heat resistance, that means the peak temperature from -196°C to 1565°C (specific time) could be tolerated. In fires exceeding 1050°C, the cables will maintain integrity for a minimum of 4 hours. Even when the distribution of high temperature molten metal or glass occurs, the equipment maintains the functions for short time. In molten steel or aluminum, they will function for 15 minutes, allowing you to stop the machine securely and to prevent costly equipment damage.
Ascotherm® cables last longer and reduce both scheduled and unscheduled downtime. Due to this fact, the utilizing of them is cost-effective.

The concept

Ascotherm® possesses a special combination of components and construction that no other cable has ever been able to match. 

  • Insulation: The major advantage of Ascotherm® cables is applying the fire resistant and incapable of propagating flame materials which is reacting to flame by creating a thermal barrier that protects the conductor and maintains dielectric characteristics. Some of these materials are specially bonded combination of mica, fiberglass (no asbestos) and organic polymers (polytetrafluoroethylene).
  • Conductor: Nickel-plated copper provides high-resistance to oxidation at high range of temperatures.
